Since 2020 he has co-hosted the comedy podcast SmartLess with Will Arnett and Sean Hayes. There are multiple DVD sets which are noticeably different from one another. The original DVD sets sold in the U.S. and Canada were released in conjunction with NBC Enterprises (later NBC Universal in 2004) by Imavision Distribution, a company based in Quebec. A majority of the episodes in the original North American DVD versions had scenes cut from the episodes—these were derived from the syndicated television versions by Worldvision Enterprises, the series' former distributor. Other episodes (especially in Season Eight) were time compressed and are NTSC-converted video prints from UK PAL masters, while others were derived from 16MM syndication prints, also from Worldvision. Only a handful of episodes in the original sets were in their original uncut versions.

Season 5, Episode 15 “The Craftsman”

A new family, the Carters (Stan Ivar as John, Pamela Roylance as Sarah, Lindsay Kennedy as older son Jeb, and David Friedman as younger son Jason), move into the Ingalls house. Meanwhile, Almanzo and Laura take in their niece, Jenny Wilder (played by Shannen Doherty), when Almanzo's brother dies and raise her alongside their daughter, Rose. The Wilders appear prominently in some episodes, while in others they appear only in early scenes used to introduce the story or its characters. The explanation given for the original characters' absence was that they moved to Burr Oak, Iowa, to pursue a promising life. The show lost viewers, because the Ingalls family (except Laura) left the series. The newer Lionsgate remastered sets all contain English, French, and Spanish audio as well as English subtitles.

The wagon crashes at the bottom of the hill, and both he and Sarah are killed instantly. Jason typically maintains a clean-shaven look and shocked fans with his wild and long hair. JASON Bateman has debuted a shaggy hairdo as fans claim the star looks unrecognizable in a new photo. When Harriet Oleson’s niece Kate (Anne Archer, who played Michael Douglas’ wife in Fatal Attraction) comes to visit Walnut Grove, she and the much older Doc Baker fall in love fast. In this episode, a lawyer visits to tell Charles that he is the heir to the massive estate of his late Uncle Ned, who owned the Ingalls Carriage Company, and a large house in St Louis.

James Cooper Ingalls

Eventually, she quit acting for good and attended Harvard University. James Cooper Ingalls was the second adopted son of Caroline and Charles Ingalls who appears on the NBC-TV series Little House on the Prairie. The part of James is played by former child star, now veteran actor / director and producer, Jason Bateman.

In an interview with Pop Culture Retro, Labyorteaux looked back at being cast in the series. Everybody wanted to work on it, they wanted to work with Landon, they knew it was such a family crew and cast, and it was something that everyone strove to work towards. After Little House on the Prairie, Arngrim guest starred on The Love Boat and Fantasy Island. Her solo show, Confessions of a Prairie Bitch, premiered in New York in 2002 and has toured globally.

Kyle Richards joined the cast of Little House on the Prairie in 1975, playing Alicia Edwards, the adopted daughter of Grace and Isaiah Edwards, for 18 episodes between seasons 2 and 8. A character actor with over 100 credits, he was the Doctor on Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea from 1964 to 1968. He later returned to guest roles, including ER, Hill Street Blues and three episodes of Highway to Heaven, which reunited him with Landon. His final TV credit was in a 2011 episode of the Kelsey Grammer series, Boss. Jonathan Gilbert, the younger brother of Melissa Gilbert, played Willie Oleson, Nellie's brother, in his first acting job. He appeared in all seasons of Little House on the Prairie and two of the TV movies.

Michael Landon

Richard Bull played Nels Oleson, husband of Harriet and father of Nellie and Willie, from 1974 to 1984. "So I have to say it started out really, really great. It didn't stay great," she added, referring to the tension that grew after she asked for a pay raise for season 2. She later reconnected with Landon and reconciled before he died in 1991. "Mike and I ended on a positive note and I was so, so glad for that," she said. While some of its stars had long careers in Hollywood after the series wrapped, others returned to their theater roots or walked away from showbusiness altogether.

They do not include the special features present on the earlier non-remastered releases, but rather seasons 1 through 6 each contain a roughly 15 minute segment of a special called "The Little House Phenomenon". Seasons 8 & 9 contain the three post-series movie specials as extras, with "Look Back to Yesterday" and "The Last Farewell" appearing on Season 8, and "Bless All The Dear Children" appearing on Season 9. None of the available releases of the series contain "The Little House Years", which was a three-hour Thanksgiving special aired during Season 6 that largely consisted of flashback clips. Bateman was awarded the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series in 2019 for his direction of Ozark and has won three Screen Actors Guild Awards for his performance. In 2020 he had a recurring role in (and directed two episodes of) the HBO miniseries The Outsider.

‘Little House on the Prairie’: Melissa Francis Had a Crush on Her on-Screen Brother and ‘Ozark’ Star Jason Bateman

This is largely because of how revered Landon was as an actor, director, and celebrity. Landon not only played Charles Ingalls on Little House on the Prairie, but also directed, wrote, and served as an executive producer on the show. While starring on the show with Landon, Bateman found this to be inspiring. Bateman played the role of James Cooper Ingalls on ‘Little House on the Prairie’ in 1981.

On Little House on the Prairie, Jason Bateman portrayed a 12-year-old orphan whose parents died in a wagon accident. James and his younger sister, Cassandra, stay with the Ingalls family while searching for a permanent home. But eventually, Caroline and Charles Ingalls adopt the two children. During her time on the show, the journalist also worked with Jason Bateman. Melissa Francis joined the Little House on the Prairie cast in 1981.

When he joined the cast, he and Francis worked together closely as on-screen siblings. Her infatuation with Bateman made her excited to film scenes where they had to hold each other’s hands. After booking a few jobs, Francis auditioned for Little House on the Prairie. The actor wrote in her memoir, Lessons From The Prarie, about the audition. She said that, at the time, the network wanted the Ingalls family to have some fresh faces.

Unlike the original North American DVD sets, the UK version contains mostly uncut episodes. Bateman earned the status of teen idol in the mid-1980s for his television work, most notably as David Hogan on The Hogan Family (originally titled Valerie and later, Valerie's Family, after Valerie Harper left the series). He became the Directors Guild of America's youngest-ever director when, at age 18, he helmed three episodes of The Hogan Family.
